Comparing Prices on EDC Gear

We noticed some low prices on gear at the local big box store. We took a look at the prices at the store compared to the sugested retail price from the manufacturer, and then we compared the big box store price to online stores and online auctions. Supprizingly, the Auctions were not always the lowest prices, and some of the prices at the local store beat the online purchase options. What this small experiment tells us is there is no best place to buy gear. Prices do fluctuate and for the money you might save it's worth looking around before you put money down.
